iCoMET Day 1

The 4th International Conference on Computing Mathematics & Engineering Technologies-2023 (iCoMET-23) came to an end with the guest speakers and researchers and students expressing their satisfaction over two-day deliberations and brain storming, parallel sessions to carve ways and means to overcome the problems of present era. Sukkur IBA University hosted 4th 4th International Conference on Computing, Mathematics & Engineering Technologies 2023 (iCOMET 2023), aimed at providing a platform to the researchers and students to present their work on various disciplines in the fields of Mathematics, computer Science and Engineering Technologies with the theme on “Sustainable Technologies for Socio-Economic Development”.
 
 
The Vice Chancellor Sukkur IBA University Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh warmly welcomed the international and national participants on the inaugural Session of the conference on March 17, 2023. Mr. Asif Ikram, Secretary, Information, Science and Technology Department, Government of Sindh, Pakistan was the chief guest in the Inaugural session. The conference was graced with the presence of 18 Key note Speakers and 06 Invited Speakers from all over the world including speakers from USA, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Turkey and Japan along with six national speakers.
 
 
The 1st day Proceeding started with the Recitation of Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem. The conference brief was presented by the Conference Chair Dr. Faheem Akhter Chachar. In the keynote sessions, one of the speakers Dr. Zenun Kastrati from Linnaeus University, Sweden spoke on “Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education”, Dr. Irfan Khan from Texas A&M University spoke about “Modern Machine Learning based Approaches for improving Cyberspace Operation of Maritime Sector”. Prof. Arianit Kurti from Linnaeus University, Sweden gave a brain storming lecture on “Digital transformation of society and industry”, Engr. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed from IIU Islamabad talked about “Flexible Self-Powered Energy Systems: Innovative Ideas to Realization”, Dr. Ali Shariq Imran from NTNU, Norway talked about “Emotions don’t lie- opinion mining and its applications”. Prof. Dr. Kijti Rodes from Naresuan University, Phitsanulok, Thailand spoke on the “Some open problems on permanents”, Dr. Asad Zaigham of Riphah International University spoke about “On a generalization of Herz spaces and related problems”, while Dr. Paolo Bottoni from Sapienza University of Rome talked about “Managing Supply Chains as Smart contracts on Blockchains”.
 
 
The worthy Vice Chancellor, Sukkur IBA, Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh presented the souvenirs and shields to appreciate the contribution of the keynote speakers and the invited guests.

 
After Lunch break, Parallel sessions were carried out to conclude Day 1. Research papers were presented in the category of Solar Power Systems, Advanced Grid Systems, Energy Systems & Management, Power Systems, Electrical Machines & Drives, and Advanced Signals Processing & Communications. The Computer Science papers presented in the conference belonged to categories of Software Engineering, Soft Computing, Human Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Machine Learning & Data Science, and more, while the Mathematics track papers presented for the categories of Applied Mathematics Analysis, Metric Differential Geometry, Numerical Analysis and Stochastic Processes.

iCoMET Day 2

 
The 2nd day Proceeding started with the Recitation of Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem. In the keynote sessions for Day 2, one of the speakers Dr. Farzada Farkhooi from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin spoke on “Complete Mean-Field Theory for Dynamics of Binary Recurrent Networks”, Dr. Nadeem Abbas from Linnaeus University Sweden spoke about “Use of Self-Adaptation in Industry”. Dr. Mohamed Abomhara from Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway gave a keynote lecture on ““Navigating the Intersection of Technology and Privacy: Protecting Our Data and Rights in a Digital World”. Dr. Ozan Keysan from Middle East Technical University, Turkey talked about ““PV applications, and agricultural-PV”, Dr. Dr. Nauman Zafar from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore gave a brain storming lecture about “Swappable batteries and local design: Developing EV technologies in Pakistan through industry-academia collaboration”. From Engineering Technologies Category, Dr. Yasmin Ansari from Scuola Superiore Sant Anna University, Italy highlighted interesting on the topic “Control of Soft Robots in Unstructured Environments”. From the Mathematics Category, Dr. Asadullah Khan from Karakoram International University Gilgit (KIU) spoke about “Mathematical modeling and topological characterization of nanostructures: Recent developments and prospects””, while Dr. Naveed R. Butt from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Swabi talked about “Modern Engineering Applications of Mathematical Modeling and Simulation”. Prof. M. Umer Saleem from University of Education Lahore talked about “Simulation and control of glucose Insulin Algorithm for artificial pancreas”.
 
 
 
After Lunch break, Parallel sessions were carried out to conclude Day 2 and the conference proceeding. Research papers were presented in the category of Solar Power Systems, Advanced Grid Systems, Energy Systems & Management, Power Systems, Electrical Machines & Drives, and Advanced Signals Processing & Communications. In his concluding remarks the Conference Chair and the Head of Electrical Engineering, Sukkur IBA University Dr. Faheem Akhter Chachar thanking the participants, told that, Researchers from more than 30 countries including USA, UK, Rome, Canada, France, Netherlands, Norway, China, Poland, Spain, Korea, Turkey, Malaysia, Pakistan and others submitted 260 research papers covering various domains related to conference theme this year. He added that he hoped that the deliberations of two-day conference will prove fruitful for the researchers and students, who have come from across the globe.
In the concluding ceremony, the Speakers were graced with Traditional souvenirs and shields. While all the stakeholders for the successful organization of the conference were awarded certificate of appreciation for their valuable contributions to make this event successful.
