Dr. Yasmin Tauqeer Ansari is working as Senior Research Fellow at Scuola Superiore Sant Anna Italy. She  obtained her B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and M.Sc degree in computer science and engineering from the prestigious University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. Pursuing her passion in academia, she first taught in her alma mater, and later went on to join the College of Computer Engineering and Sciences in Prince Muhammad bin Fahd University, Saudi Arabia as a fulltime lecturer. In this time, she also served as the IEEE Student Chapter chairman. She has been among the first female Pakistanis to win a Marie-Curie Fellowship to conduct her doctoral research scholar in the SMART-E project headed at the prestigious Scuola Superiore Sant Anna, Italy. Currently, she is employed as a senior researcher with the same group, working on various ground breaking European projects, one of which is GrowBot, aimed to push the boundaries of robotic technologies by taking inspiration from plants for different solution opportunities. Her current research interests include soft robotics, robot control and cognition, and machine learning. She is also a lifetime member of the Pakistan Engineering Council.
