Ali Shariq Imran received a master’s degree in software engineering and computing from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, in 2008 and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Oslo (UiO), Norway, in 2013. He is currently associated with the Department of Computer Science, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, as an Associate Professor. He specializes in applied research focusing on deep learning technology and its application to signal processing, natural language processing, and the semantic web. He has over 100 peer-reviewed journals and conference publications to his name. He is a member of the Norwegian Colour and Visual Computing Laboratory (Colourlab) and an IEEE Member, Norway Section. He served as a Reviewer for many reputed journals over the years, including IEEE ACCESS, as an Associate Editor.
